Multiple Hole Array

Our high precision laser machining process allows us to produce large arrays of holes in a single part. Oxford Lasers' laser micro drilling systems are fully automated to make producing repeatable micro holes efficient and fast. An example of the type of micro-drilled parts that we can make is shown below. This is a section of an array of 22,000, 5 micron holes that we produced on a single part in our applications laboratory.

The hole pitch is 30 microns, and the hole entry diameter is 5 microns.

Our sub-contract machining service can produce custom laser micromachined parts either as a one-off or regular large production runs. Micro-hole arrays of widely different hole diameter, hole number, material thickness and material shape can be produced. Micro-orifices can be laser drilled in almost all materials including: stainless steel, tungsten, titanium, aluminium, aerospace alloys, alumina, aluminium nitride, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, silicon, diamond, polyimide etc.
