Standard Pinholes
We offer a range of standard pinholes from stock. These pin-holes are suitable for many uses including: calibrated leaks, flow restrictors, flow orifices, optical apertures, spatial filters and most other applications where a micro-hole is required.
Standard pinholes are drilled in 50 micron thick, high quality stainless steel using proprietary laser micro-drilling techniques. These pinhole drilling technique enables ultra high accuracy orifices to be drilled, suitable for a wide range of applications. Standard micro-hole diameters range from 5 microns to 100 microns (0.0002 to 0.004 inches). Other hole sizes and substrate materials are available on request. Most standard pin-holes can be shipped within 48 hours of ordering. Pinholes can be supplied with a certificate of conformity for an additional charge.

Laser drilled pinholes are characterised by having sharp edges, good circularity and high accuracy. Good centering of the pinhole in the 3 mm standard disc is ensued by laser cutting the disc from the bulk foil immediately after it has been drilled.
Most laser drilled orifaces listed above are available in quantity from stock.
Custom micro-holes can also be supplied. These can be to a higher specification or in thicker sheet or in a wide range of different materials. Non-standard micro-hole diameters from 1 micron upward can be supplied.
